About Us
The Rocket City Rowing Club provides opportunities for novice and experienced rowers of all ages. RCRC has a competitive Juniors Program for male and female athletes in middle and high school. Students rowing for RCRC represent as many as nine area high schools. Our Juniors have gone on to row at various colleges including Brown University, University of Tennessee, Clemson, Amherst, University of Alabama, Auburn University, and Murray State. The RCRC Juniors compete in races throughout the Southeast. The regional competitions culminate with National Youth Invitational Regatta held each summer. RCRC is proud to have had Junior crews participate in the National Youth Invitational in 2000, 2001, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008 (see our Hall of Fame). RCRC promotes adult rowing with an active Masters rowing program. The Masters Program conducts Learn To Row classes in the spring and fall, and trains and practices year round. Open Boathouse hours on Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday provide flexibility for adults' busy schedules while offering regular rowing opportunities. Additional practices times for adult rowing are scheduled based on interest and participation. The Masters program is flexible enough to accomodate all levels of participation from those rowing for fun and fitness, to those training and competing in regattas. If you are an experienced rower or simply want to learn how, Rocket City Rowing Club has the program for you! To get started, or for more information, just go to the Contacts page and send an email to the Junior Director, the Masters Director, or the Club President. |
