Our Juniors Program offers an opportunity for local area youth to participate in the oldest and largest high school rowing program in Alabama. Rowers compete in several regattas throughout the Southeast region, and have represented Rocket City Rowing at the national level for the last nine years.
Our Masters Program provides an opportunity for adults of all ages and experience levels to participate in the sport. The Masters Program is for adults that want to learn to row, have fun, and improve their fitness. All that's needed is the desire to row and work hard!
Rocket City Rowing Club offers learn to row classes for adults throughout the year, in addition to a summer camp for youth. We teach the fundamentals of sweep rowing, starting with the basics. Novice rowers who have "graduated" are invited to join the club and continue rowing.
The Hobbs Island Regatta is a five kilometer head race hosted each October by Rocket City Rowing Club. Collegiate, Masters and Youth crews are invited to compete on the Tennessee river in Huntsville. We also provide a pasta dinner to all crews the night before the regatta.
Rocket City Rowing Club (RCRC) was founded by rowing alumni from the University of Alabama in Huntsville in 1996. The club rows on the Tennessee River, primarily in a channel protected from wind and waves by Hobbs Island.
